Beginning Relaxation

Download audio.
I will present the instructions slowly so that you can follow them carefully. My voice will lead you to have an experience that is completely safe and soothing.
Do your best to listen to my voice and follow my instructions.
If your mind wanders, pick up the instructions when you come back and start following them again.
Be aware of the thoughts that you have as they come and go, and allow yourself to only notice their coming and going at this time.
Allow yourself to notice the coming and going of your thoughts without acting on them at this time. The thoughts can be considered later, after you are relaxed and refreshed.
Before you begin, make sure that you are comfortable.
Loosen any tight fitting clothes.
If you are wearing glasses, take them off, and remove your shoes and wrist watch.
If anything is tight, loosen it now.
If you need to use the bathroom, turn off these instructions and return to them when you are ready.
Lie down someplace comfortable. A bed is best, but a couch or an armchair with support for your arms, and your head, and your feet is just fine.
Get as comfortable as possible.
Do not cross your arms, or your hands, or your legs. Uncross everything and settle in and get as comfortable as you can.
